Storage is a big selling point for buyers, so empty or organize your closets and cabinets as much as possible to make the spaces seem bigger.

  • Toss: Get rid of any broken items that fall into the “Why are we keeping this?” category.
  • Donate: Give gently used items to charity stores.
  • Keep: Pack as much as you can into boxes for the move.

I guarantee that by using this list as a guide you will get more chores done in less time regardless of completing every single task each day. Our house was always a nice place to come home to because each of us did our part to keep it that way.

    I did this when I lived with roommates and it was SO helpful. Take turns on which areas of the house each person is responsible for each week and let them check the boxes when each chore is done. However, if you live with roommates or kids or even just your spouse (*raising hand) it can be a helpful way to visually divvy up what needs to be taken care of in the house each week/month.
